THERMAL: Diane Chihuahua, 55, Died in 2-Vehicle Traffic Collision on Harrison Street

THERMAL, California (Monday, October 12, 2015) – Diane Chihuahua, 55, died this morning, thirty-five minutes after her vehicle collided with another on Harrison Street, just south of Avenue 66.

According to witnesses, the vehicle in front of Ms. Chihuahua stopped short to execute a u-turn. Chihuahua swerved to avoid the vehicle but smashed through its left side regardless. She had not been wearing her seat-belt. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims suffered serious injuries, while two more sustained only minor injuries. All five victims were transported by ambulance to a nearby medical facility, according to The Desert Sun newspaper and the Riverside County Fire Department.

A California Highway Patrol incident report indicated the incident occurred at about 10:05 a.m. The woman died at about 10:40 a.m. The Riverside Sheriff-Coroner’s report corroborates this.
