THERMAL, California March 16, 2016) — Melquiades Mayo-Venancio, 62, of Mecca was killed in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning on the northbound State Route Highway 86, just south of Airport Boulevard, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The fatal crash was reported about 4:27 a.m. Paramedics and the coroner responded to the scene to help the involved in the crash. Police issued a SigAlert and closed down the roadway for at least an hour to investigate the cause of the crash. Two tow trucks were sent to remove the damaged vehicles from the scene.
