THERMAL, California (September 15, 2015) — A female teenager was seriously injured Friday night when they were struck by a school bus returning from a field trip in front of Desert Mirage High School at Avenue 66 and Fillmore Street, according to a report by the Riverside County Fire Department.
The pedestrian accident was reported at 9:59 p.m. at the intersection. CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to the scene and the teen aged between 15 and 20 years old was airlifted to a local hospital in serious condition.
A police investigation is underway into liability for the pedestrian accident.
