Thomas Diguette | Palm Springs Pedestrian Accident on Palm Canyon Drive

PALM SPRINGS — Thomas Diguette, 78, of Palm Springs, was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday night on East Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, authorities said.

The collision was reported on April 29th shortly after 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of East Palm Canyon Drive and Cherokee Way.

According to the Palm Springs Police Department, preliminary findings indicate the driver was traveling eastbound on East Palm Canyon Drive and struck Diguette as he was in the east crosswalk. Investigators said the vehicle is believed to have had a green light and the right of way at the time of the crash.

Diguette was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
