Man, 25, Struck by Fallen Power Pole on Monday
HEALDBURG (October 30, 2017)- According to the Press Democrat, a tragic accident occurred Monday night at or outside a residence located on Young Drive when a fallen power pole struck a young man fatally injuring him.
The incident occurred at roughly 6:15 p.m. when Thomas Klaus, 25, had been helping move a fallen power pole which had landed across the lumber rack of the truck.
As Klaus assisted his girlfriend’s parents in moving the fallen pole from off the truck, the 25-year-old tripped over something causing him to lose grip of the pole striking him in the head.
Klaus suffered major injuries as paramedics were dispatched to the scene to provide emergency resuscitative efforts. Despite several attempts, Klaus sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
No further details have been released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
This story will be updated pending the release of the victim’s name.

Based on this news report, there are still several unanswered questions here regarding what exactly happened in this incident. What caused the power pole to initially fall over? Did the incident happen on or outside of the home owner’s property? Is there liability on behalf of the electrical company who installed and stabilized those poles? Is there liability or another entity responsible for the fallen power pole? We trust officials are looking into these and other factors in order to determine precisely what occurred here and why.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, families of deceased victims can file a wrongful death lawsuit against the at-fault parties seeking compensation for damages including medical expenses, funeral costs, lost future income, and loss of love and companionship.
