Man, 69, Killed in San Diego Traffic Accident Identified
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (July 19, 2024) — Thomas Eugene Monroe, 69, died in a head-on crash on Old Highway 80, just west of Tierra Del Sol Road in San Diego.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 1:03 a.m. on June 28th, according to a press release by the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The 69-year-old man was a passenger in a westbound Ford pickup truck when an eastbound Toyota sedan crossed into the path of the truck. The two vehicles collided head-on and Thomas Monroe suffered major injuries.
Paramedics responded and transported him to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido where he died from his injuries the next day at 11:35 a.m., the report said.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
