Pedestrian Thomas Parr, 74, Killed in Banning Crash at Sims and Wilson Streets

BANNING, CA (October 29, 2022) – Pedestrian Thomas Parr was killed after a crash at Sims and Wilson streets in the city of Banning.

Police identified the 74-year-old Banning man as the victim of the fatal accident which took place on October 16.

The incident happened when Thomas Parr was walking along the westbound side of Wilson Street near Sims Street in Banning. Police said for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him.

Driver Hits Man, Flees Scene

The KESQ News and My News LA wrote that the collision occurred at about 7:10 p.m. Thomas Parr sustained serious injuries as a result of the pedestrian accident.

Paramedics arrived and soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Meanwhile, officers affirmed that the driver did not stop to render aid and fled west on Wilson.

They described the car as a light colored full-size pickup truck or SUV with possible damage. Officers forced the area of Sims and Wilson streets to shut down for a time following the incident.

The cause of the Banning pedestrian crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 951-922-3170.
