Thomas Shierts, 2, Killed in San Bernardino Hit-and-Run on Del Rosa Avenue
SAN BERNARDINO (June 1, 2018) – A pedestrian was killed after an alleged hit-and-run accident on Del Rosa Avenue late Thursday night, according to The Press Enterprise.
The San Benardino Sheriff’s Department identified the victim as 62-year-old Thomas Peter Shierts, of San Bernardino.
As per the article, police said Shierts was walking on the west side of Del Rosa Avenue when he crossed to the east portion of the street and was struck by a vehicle headed south.
The collision took place at about 10:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Del Rosa Avenue.

Shierts was left with severe injuries while the driver who hit him did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. The pedestrian was rushed to St. Bernardine Medical Center where he later died.
Meanwhile, police described the suspect car as a dark-colored small, newer 4-door sedan. The tragic incident prompted a second vehicle to veer and crash into a third car. Both motorists reportedly stopped.
