Man, 66, Killed in Crash on Highway 79 in Warner Springs
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 3, 2019) — Thomas Theobald, 66, was killed in a collision on state Route 79 last week in the unincorporated community of Warner Springs, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The crash was reported at 8:42 p.m. near Linton Road on Dec. 28th. The California Highway Patrol reported that the drivers of a Ford pickup truck and a Toyota Prius collided head-on at the intersection. Theobald was driving one of the vehicles and was critically injured in the crash. He was treated by paramedics and airlifted to the emergency room at Palomar Medical Center. He suffered multiple fractures and never regained consciousness. He died the following morning at 1:47 a.m., the coroner report said. It’s unknown if anyone else was hurt in the crash.
