Major Injury Collision on West Side (5) Freeway Wednesday
Thornton, CA (July 1, 2021) – A car accident occurred on Interstate 5, also known as West Side Freeway, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
On June 30, Wednesday, a vehicle veered off the roadway for an unknown reason. The white Chevrolet sedan ended up rolling down the ditch near Walnut Grove Road offramp in Thornton.
Officials said the car ended up 15 feet off the roadway.

Shortly after 7:35 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. Paramedics said they rendered aid to all parties involved in the wreck. Following the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
Several factors surrounding the car accident in Thornton remained unclear at this time. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led to the crash.
