1 Seriously Injured in Thornton Crash on Interstate 5 Near Peltier Road
THORNTON, CA (February 27, 2022) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on the Interstate 5 near Peltier Road in Thornton.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Sunday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 2:28 p.m.
The incident happened when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Thornton. They crashed on the southbound Interstate 5, just south of Peltier Road.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described the cars as a black Ford Explorer and a white Chevrolet Silverado. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the city of Lodi.
Medical personnel found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the Thornton crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down near Peltier for nearly an hour following the wreck.
