1 Killed in Thousand Oaks Crash on Highway 101 at Conejo Grade
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (January 9, 2022) – A car crash killed at least one person on Highway 101 at the Conejo Grade in Thousand Oaks.
According to an article published by The Ventura County Star, the tragic accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:40 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a silver sedan and possibly another vehicle collided in Thousand Oaks. For an unknown reason, the two crashed on northbound Highway 101 at the top of the Conejo Grade.
Fiery Collision Sunday
The sedan caught fire and obtained major rear-end damage due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They confirmed that an occupant of the burning car died as a result of the incident. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down for more than two hours at the Conejo Grade following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Thousand Oaks is still under investigation.
