THOUSAND PALMS, California (Sunday, November 22, 2015) – A vehicle struck a tractor-trailer tanker truck on eastbound Interstate 10 Freeway, east of Monterey Avenue. A separate vehicle overturned. Two parties required extrication by firefighters who swiftly arrived on the scene. One party sustained major injuries, another minor, and a third declined medical assistance, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The Riverside County Environmental Health Department responded tot he scene as well, helping contain a fuel leak caused by the collision.
The incident occurred at about 5:01 p.m., according to an incident report by the California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino. Police are still investigating the incident.
