Person in Wheelchair Seriously Injured in Thousand Palms Crash Near Varner and Ramon
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (November 19, 2021) – A crash seriously injured a pedestrian in a wheelchair near Varner Road and Ramon Road in Thousand Palms.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at about 5:05 p.m.
CHP said a gray Toyota Camry struck the pedestrian in a motorized wheelchair for an unknown reason in Thousand Palms. The KESQ News wrote that the driver hit the person on Varner Road, south of Ramon Road.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, just north of Manufacturing Road. They found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment. The log did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Varner Road to shut down near Ramon following the collision. The cause of the Thousand Palms crash is still under investigation.
