Driver Suspected of Drunk Driving in Paradise Crash
PARADISE, Calif. (Dec. 20, 2024) – Three people were injured following a rollover crash involving a DUI suspect on the Skyway Wednesday afternoon in Paradise.
The Paradise Police Department responded to the two-vehicle crash around 3:50 p.m. on Dec. 18th, according to Action News Now.
Authorities say a 28-year-old man exited Adventist Health Medical Center and pulled directly into the path of an oncoming Toyota truck.
The Toyota pickup truck crashed into the vehicle driven by Darian Ocampo, 28, of Magalia. The impact caused the man’s vehicle to overturn and he became trapped inside.
The Paradise Police Department also stated that both vehicles went off the roadway.
Firefighters extricated Darian Ocampo from the overturned vehicle and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Meanwhile, two of the four people who were in the Toyota pickup truck were also injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment
The Paradise Police Department determined forwarded the case to the Butte County District Attorney’s Office to prosecute Darian Ocampo on felony DUI [CVC 23153 (A)] and felony DUI higher than .08 BAC [CVC 23153 (B)].
