Timothy Lowman Killed in San Diego Motorcycle Crash on Pershing Drive
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Dec. 30, 2025) — Timothy Lowman of San Diego died early Sunday after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Pershing Drive in downtown San Diego, authorities confirmed.
Lowman, 51, was a musician and frontman for local bands Low Volts and Blackout Party as well as a graphic designer, the San Diego Reader reported.
At approximately 1:40 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2025, San Diego Police responded to reports of a collision on the 2000 block of Pershing Drive, where officers found the rider, later identified as 51-year-old Timothy Scott Lowman, with fatal injuries. A passerby had called 911 moments after the crash. First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Lowman was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:59 a.m. The investigation remains ongoing.
Motorcycle crashes are a particularly dangerous category of traffic collisions in the region, contributing to serious injuries and fatalities each year.
Statewide crash reporting from the California Office of Traffic Safety indicates San Diego County consistently ranks high in total fatal and injury collisions. In 2023, nearly 18,773 collisions in the county involved fatalities or injuries, including hundreds of motorcycle and pedestrian incidents.
