Truck Crash Highway 99 in Tulare County
TIPTON, Calif. (July 9, 2021) — A Tipton crash involving a FedEx truck and red big rig truck happened early Friday in Tulare County.
The major-injury crash happened about 4:49 a.m. on July 9th near state Route 190, according to a dispatch from the California Highway Patrol.
The two, fully-loaded semi-trucks collided due to unknown reasons and blocked several lanes of the highway.

The Tulare County Fire Department responded and extricated at least one person trapped in one of the trucks. They also sent paramedics to the scene. At least one person suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The roadway was blocked until about 8 a.m. due to the cleanup and investigation into the Tipton crash involving the FedEx truck.
Police will determine fault for the collision after reviewing witness statements and evidence. It’s unknown if either of the drivers will be cited for any vehicle code or Hours of Service violations.
