Vehicle Fatally Hits Girl in Private Driveway

Bakersfield, CA (May 13, 2023) – A 3-year-old girl died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Adobe Road near the unincorporated community of Meridian.

According to ABC23 and Bakersfield Now News, a 2020 GMC truck entered a private driveway of a residence near Highway 223 Wednesday, May 10. Our sources indicated the truck hit the toddler on Adobe Road at approximately 6:52 p.m.

The article published online mentioned the girl sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Family members reportedly rushed the victim to Highway 223 where they met responding emergency crews arriving at the scene.

Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield

Kern County Fire Department and Hall ambulance crews provided emergency medical care to the juvenile then transferred her to Kern Medical Hospital. Sadly, the child succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the hospital.

Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened on Adobe Road in Bakersfield.
