Toddler Killed in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash in San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (MAY 9, 2014) — Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a hit-and-run driver who struck a 2-year-old girl Wednesday and fled in the 2400 block of North Mountain View Avenue,  according to a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.

The little girl, identified as Asianae Thomas, was attending a birthday party at a home when she ran into the road and was struck by a dark-colored flatbed truck. She was taken to San Berardine Medical Center, but later transferred to Loma Linda University Medical Center.  She was then declared brain dead on Wednesday and died at the hospital.

The San Bernardino Police are conducting an investigation into the fatal pedestrian accident in an effort to locate the suspect driver. Detective Peck can be reached at 909-384-5664.

“This is a tragedy for the family and friends of this little girl,” said Attorney James Johnson. “My condolences go out to them as they cope wth her sudden loss and pray for the driver to be found.”
