Tommy Munoz ID’d as Victim Killed in Sacramento Crash
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (October 30, 2020) – Tommy Munoz, 39, of Olivehurst, died Tuesday in a car crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway near Sacramento International Airport.
The collision occurred at 4:20 p.m. near Airport Boulevard, police said.
The driver of a big rig truck was allegedly speeding southbound on the Interstate 5 before he crashed into the back of three vehicles that were stopped in traffic. Specifically, the California Highway Patrol stated the truck rear-ended a Chevrolet van, a Kia and a white Dodge Ram pickup truck.
Several Injured in Sacramento Crash
Paramedics responded to help those who were hurt in the crash. Tommy Munoz, who had been driving the Kia, was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Additionally, other people injured in the crash suffered major injuries and were hospitalized. However, the names of the injured were not released.
Meanwhile, police closed down both lanes of the road following the crash. The fatal collision remains under investigation.
