Passenger Badly Hurt in Collision at Herring and Old River Road Friday
Bakersfield, CA (March 1, 2022) – Ton Eggleston, a 41-year-old man from Riverside, suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Herring and Old River Road on February 25, Friday.
The Taft Midway Driller News reported a black Nissan Altima and a semi truck collided at the intersection in southwest Bakersfield. According to the article published online, the driver of the sedan failed to yield at stop sign. The Nissan ended up driving into the path of an oncoming big rig.
Officials said the catastrophic incident took place at approximately 4 a.m.
Driver, Passenger Killed in Bakersfield Car Accident
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found three people inside the mangled sedan. Our sources confirmed the Nissan driver, and a passenger sadly died as a result of the collision. The names of the deceased parties remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, another passenger reportedly sustained major injuries. Authorities identified the victim as Ton Eggleston, of Riverside. Paramedics mentioned they transported the patient to a hospital for treatment of major trauma.
Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event remained unclear. Given that, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal crash at Herring and Old River Road in Bakersfield.
