Toney Johnson Jr., 57, Suspect in Fresno DUI Hit-and-Run Crash
FRESNO, CA (July 6, 2021) – Authorities detained Toney Johnson Jr. after a DUI hit-and-run crash at Friant Road and Shepherd Avenue in Fresno.
Police determined that the 57-year-old man was the under the influence when the wreck took place on Tuesday morning.
The incident began when Toney Johnson Jr. ran a red light at the intersection of Friant Road and Shepherd Avenue in Fresno.
Officers said he then struck two other vehicles in the area and made a U-turn. Toney Johnson Jr. continued driving south on Friant and ultimately fled the scene.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the site and found one victim left wounded as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, witnesses followed the hit-and-run motorist and stopped him. Fresno police arrived and soon arrested Toney Johnson Jr. on suspicion of felony DUI and hit-and-run.
