Innocent Driver Killed in Collision at Highway 20 and Humphrey Road
Yuba City, CA (October 24, 2022) – Toni Morgan, a 35-year-old woman, died following a suspected DUI car crash that occurred in the area of Highway 20 and Humphrey Road.
On October 22, Saturday, Morgan was behind the wheel of a 2010 Dodge Charger traveling in the streets of Yuba City. The ABC10 News reported the Dodge drove through the intersection of Highway 20 and Humphrey Road. While at the crossing, a 2020 Honda Ridgeline traveling at a high rate of speed struck the Dodge. The catastrophic incident took place shortly after 1 a.m.
Emergency crews responded to the accident scene and found the driver of the Dodge unconscious. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the female motorist sadly succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased as Toni Morgan.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Fatal Accident in Yuba City
Meanwhile, preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Honda was intoxicated at the time of the collision. Police then arrested, and booked the suspect into jail on charges of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
