Motorcyclist Killed in Crash in Lancaster Area
LANCASTER, Calif. (August 25, 2021) —Tony Leon Jr. died, two people were hurt in a Lancaster motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon at 90th Street West and Avenue F-4.
The two-vehicle collision happened about 3:15 p.m. on August 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 31-year-old Lancaster man was riding a motorcycle that collided with another motorist, police said. The rider suffered major injuries and died at the scene of the crash.
Fatal Lancaster Motorcycle Accident
Tony Leon Jr. was riding a 2014 Suzuki GSX-R southbound on 90th Street West. He attempted to pass an uninvolved vehicle on the left and subsequently crashed into the right side of a 2020 Chevrolet as it finished up a left-hand turn from Avenue F-4 from 90th Street, according to the Antelope Valley Times.
Meanwhile, two passengers riding in the Chevrolet suffered minor injuries. Paramedics transported a 55-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.
The circumstances of the crash are under investigation to determine if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor, the CHP said.
