2 Injured in Toro Canyon Crash on Highway 101 Near Santa Claus Lane
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (September 2, 2021) – Two were hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 101 in Toro Canyon.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place late Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:16 p.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the Toro Canyon area of Santa Barbara County. They crashed on northbound Highway 101, just south of Santa Claus Lane.
The incident log described the cars a silver Toyota Tacoma and a red Nissan Rodeo. The Toyota obtained major front damage while the Nissan came to a stop with moderate rear damage.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Carpinteria. They found two people who sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took both patients to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at the time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of the Highway 101 near Santa Claus to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Toro Canyon crash is still under investigation.
