3 Injured Torrance Crash Near 220th Street and Western Avenue
TORRANCE, CA (July 29, 2021) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash at 220th Street and Western Avenue in Torrance.
According to the KTLA News and ABC 7 News, the accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 4:50 p.m.
Torrance police said the incident happened when a car made a U-turn in front of another vehicle. The two crashed at the intersection of West 220th Street and South Western Avenue.
One of the cars involved obtained significant front-end damage upon impact. The other vehicle came to a stop with its side mangled.
Baby Victim in Car Collision
A woman and her infant child ended up ejected from their car. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found them suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision
They rushed the mother and her baby to the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for treatment. Medical personnel also took an occupant of the other vehicle with unspecified injuries.
Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, police forced the area of 220th Street and Western Avenue to shut down following the wreck.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Torrance crash.
