Pedestrian, 57, Killed in Torrance Accident at Artesia and Hawthorne Boulevards
TORRANCE, CA (February 24, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after an accident at Artesia and Hawthorne boulevards in Torrance.
According to an article published by The Daily Bulletin, the tragic collision occurred on Tuesday night. Officers reported the crash at around 9:15 p.m.
The incident happened on February 23 when a Honda CR-V was going north on Hawthorne Boulevard. For an unknown reason, the SUV then struck a 57-year-old man.
Torrance police said the driver of the Honda hit the pedestrian walking at the intersection of Artesia and Hawthorne boulevards.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and found the victim lying on the ground as a result of the collision. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased man has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting pedestrian.
Officials forced the Artesia and Hawthorne boulevards to close for a time following the Torrance crash. The cause of the fatal collision is still under investigation.
