Pedestrian Killed in Torrance Crash Near Carson Street and Western Avenue
TORRANCE, CA (April 16, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian near Carson Street and Western Avenue in Torrance.
According to an article published by My News LA, the tragic accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the collision on April 16 shortly after 2 a.m.
Torrance police said the incident happened when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in the city. The driver hit him near the intersection of Carson Street and Western Avenue.
Man Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene and found the man down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the victim to a hospital, where he soon died. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police added that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site following the accident. Officers forced the area of Carson and Western to shut down for a time after the incident.
The cause of the fatal Torrance pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
