Inglewood Man Killed in Torrance Pedestrian Accident
TORRANCE, Calif. (Sept. 17, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck and killed in a car accident early Sunday morning at Hawthorne and Artesia boulevards, according to the Torrance Police Department.
The 40-year-old Inglewood man was hit by an SUV about 12:30 a.m. He was transported by ambulance to a hospital where he later died.

Police stated that the 27-year-old driver of a Saturn SUV was traveling northbound in the number four lane of Hawthorne Boulevard. The woman driving the Saturn had a green traffic signal and proceeded through the intersection at Artesia Boulevard. The pedestrian was reportedly crossing Hawthorne Boulevard against a red signal, heading in an eastbound direction on the south side of the intersection.

Torrance Crash Investigation
The investigation into this collision is underway to determine fault. At this time, police will seek to confirm who had the right-of-way and whether or not any traffic violations were involved.
