Tracy Battaglia, 62, Seriously Injured in Red Bluff Crash on Highway 36
RED BLUFF, CA (February 13, 2023) – Tracy Battaglia was seriously injured after a DUI crash on Highway 36 in Red Bluff.
Police identified the 62-year-old Red Bluff woman as one of the victims in the wreck which took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Tracy Battaglia was driving a 2017 Audi Q3 west at about 45 mph on Highway 36 in Red Bluff. At the same time, a 2010 Toyota Corolla was traveling east at about 60-70 mph.
Police said for an unknown reason, the Toyota slammed head-on into the Audi. The two crashed near the 21000 block of Highway 36, half a mile west of Monroe Avenue.
Drunk Driver Hits Another Car Head-On
The KRCRTV News and Action News Now wrote that the collision occurred on February 12 at about 7:30 p.m. Tracy Battaglia sustained moderate to severe injuries as a result of the crash.
Paramedics rushed her to a hospital for treatment. Medical personnel transported the 14-year-old passenger in the Corolla with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, police determined that the male driver of the Toyota was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the other car. They soon arrested him for DUI resulting in bodily injury and child endangerment.
Officers a stretch of Highway 36 to shut down for a time following the accident. The cause of the Red Bluff crash is still under investigation.
