1 Seriously Injured in Tracy Crash on Southbound Interstate 5
TRACY, CA (May 23, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on the Interstate 5 near Interstate 205 transition in Tracy.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck shortly after midnight.
CHP said a van and two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Tracy. The three crashed on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of the Interstate 205 connector.
Multi-Car Collision Near Interstate 205 Transition
The van plunged 40 feet down an embankment due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the area of Lathrop.
Medical personnel then found one person who suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. They took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down following the wreck.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the Tracy crash.
