Elderly in Mobility Scooter Fatally Struck by Vehicle on West 11th Street
Tracy, CA (December 1, 2022) – A deadly pedestrian accident occurred Thursday on West 11th Street, the Tracy Press News reported.
Our sources indicated a person, believed to be an elderly, was riding on a mobility scooter in Tracy. Officials said the pedestrian attempted to cross from the north side of 11th Street to the south side. While in the middle of the roadway, a westbound Mazda CX 5 struck the man. The horrible crash took place around 5:47 a.m.
Emergency crews responded to the 1100 block of West 11th Street. When rescue teams arrived, they found the victim and his mobility scooter down in the westbound lanes of 11th Street; approximately 200 feet from the sidewalk at the West Ninth Street intersection.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Tracy
Medical personnel performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Mazda reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process. Detectives continue to work at this time to determine liability in the deadly accident that happened on West 11th Street in Tracy.
