Train, Vehicle Crash at Avenue 112, Near Highway 43 in Corcoran

CORCORAN, Calif., (Sept. 25, 2026) — Two people were seriously injured early Friday in a crash involving a vehicle and a train near Avenue 112 and Angiola Drive in Corcoran.

The California Highway Patrol reported the incident on Sept. 25th at approximately 4:47 a.m. The collision involved a vehicle that had reportedly landed on its side on the railroad tracks and was subsequently struck by a train. The vehicle was wedged into the front of the train on the tracks.

Emergency responders, including units from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and Double D Towing, were dispatched to the scene.

Authorities say the two occupants of the vehicle were both seriously injured in the initial rollover crash before they were hit by the oncoming train. The passenger was still in the car when it was hit by the train, but it’s unknown if the driver had exited.

The exact circumstances leading up to the vehicle being on its side remain unclear, but police suspected drigs and or alcohol were contributing factors and the driver was arrested.

The identities of those involved have not been disclosed. However, authorities confirmed that the incident resulted in significant injuries as one person was airlifted to a trauma center.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and authorities from the CHP Visalia are urging any witnesses to come forward with information that could assist in determining the sequence of events leading to the collision by calling (559) 839-2810.
