2 Killed, 1 Injured in Crash on Vintage Park Drive
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Trayvon Winton, 33, of Vallejo, and Essence Ntchampo, 21, of Sacramento, both died Monday in a solo crash at Vintage Park Drive and Kirkton Court.
A third person suffered major injuries in the high-speed collision about 4:20 a.m. on Monday, August 29th, in front of a home on Vintage Park Drive, according to CBS Sacramento and the Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner.
Essence Joyce-Tena Ntchampo was reportedly driving the vehicle at a high rate of speed prior to crashing into a fence in front of the home, KCRA reports.
The young woman died at the scene of the crash. However, paramedics transported her two passengers including Trayvon Winton to a hospital. Trayvon Winton was seated in the front seat of the vehicle and later died at the hospital. Meanwhile, paramedics also transported a second man to the hospital. He was riding in the back of the car and suffered major injuries. The name of the surviving passenger was not released.
Investigators are working on the case to determine what happened, but initial findings do not suggest drugs or alcohol were involved.
Meanwhile, the vehicle involved was a rental car with Florida license plates.
