PALM DESERT, California (August 14, 2016) – A male pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run collision early Sunday on Azzuro Drive, according to The Desert Sun.
The accident was reported about 2:40 a.m. in the Brenna community at Country Club and Tamarisk Row drives.
As per the article, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said a man was found wounded after being struck by a vehicle which then fled the scene.
KMIR said the victim, 18-year-old Trey O’Connor, suffered serious head trauma upon impact. The Rancho Mirage man was transported to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
A Sheriff’s deputy affirmed that two people have been later detained. The incident is still under investigation.
