Trino Lopez Fatal Bicycle Accident Van Nuys Boulevard in Valley Glen
VALLEY GLEN, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2023) — Trino Lopez, 40, was identified as the bicycle rider killed in a hit-and-run car accident on Van Nuys Boulevard near Burbank Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley.
The deadly collision occurred at around 11:40 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30th, according to KTLA 5 News.
Both the driver and the cyclist were traveling southbound on Van Nuys Boulevard when the car struck the rider and dragged the man down the street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver continued driving and Trino Lopez eventually became dislodged from underneath the vehicle and died at the scene.
The motorist fled the scene without stopping to help the dying bicycle rider who was later identified by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
Investigators are searching for the suspect in a red Toyota sedan, possibly a Camry or Corolla, the report said.
