UC Davis Student Fatally Struck by Garbage Truck at La Rue and Dairy Road
Sacramento, CA (May 26, 2022) – Tris Yasay, a 19-year-old freshmen student, died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of La Rue and Dairy Road.
The CBS News reported the female student was riding a bicycle inside the campus of UC Davis Wednesday morning. When the young woman crossed the intersection of La Rue and Dairy, a garbage truck hit her. The horrible crash took place Wednesday around 8 a.m.
Responding emergency crews immediately rendered aid to the cyclist found lying on the ground. According to the article published online, paramedics rushed the victim to UC Davis Medical Center. The patient later sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Authorities identified the deceased as Tris Yasay, a freshman majoring in sustainable agriculture.
No immediate information was available on the garbage truck driver involved in the unfortunate event.
The campus officials and Davis police officers continue to investigate the deadly bicycle accident that happened at La Rue and Dairy Road.
