Troy Ersan, 25, Victim in Deadly Head-on Collision
LOCATION: Santa Rosa, CA
DATE OF INCIDENT: Wednesday, May 3rd
May 3, 2018- According to the Press-Democrat, a deadly head-on collision caused by a potential reckless driver left a young man with fatal injuries Wednesday early evening on Highway 12 near Pythian Road.
California Highway Patrol officials were notified of the fatal wreck which transpired at 5:23 p.m. between a Chevy Tahoe and a Subaru Impreza.
Driver of Chevy Crosses Into Path of Subaru
Preliminary investigative efforts have concluded that the driver of the Chevy who had been traveling eastbound veered over into westbound lanes directly into the path of Troy Ersan, 25, of Santa Rosa.
Following the wreck, Troy Ersan was tragically pronounced dead at the scene upon the arrival of the fire department and paramedics. Authorities believe he died of impact, per the Press-Democrat.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevy was moderate to seriously hurt and rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial after his vehicle came to rest just off the side of the road after overturning.
At this time, it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol were contributing factors to this collision.
Emergency crew members and police officials remained present at the scene for nearly 4 hours until the highway was finally reopened and lanes were cleared by 9:23 p.m.
