Semi-Truck, SUV Involved in Major Injury Collision
CALAVERAS COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 14, 2023) — A semi-truck and SUV were involved in a crash Thursday on Redwood Highway (US 101), just south of Arnold in Calaveras County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 3:51 a.m. on Dec. 14th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a 16-wheeler flatbed semi-truck and a 4-door Suzuki SUV collided due to unknown circumstances. The big rig truck went roughly 15 feet off the roadway and down an embankment sustaining moderate damage.
Meanwhile, the SUV also went off the roadway roughly 20 feet down the embankment and sustained major front-end damage and two blown out front tires.
Paramedics responded and located at least one person with major injuries who was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the truck crash on Redwood Highway 101.
