Truck Tire Hits Car Windshield on Interstate 580 Freeway
LIVERMORE, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2022) — A tire came off a semi-truck and struck a car on the westbound Interstate 580 Freeway near the North Livermore Avenue off ramp.
The tire struck the windshield of a gray 4-door Toyota Corolla about 11:51 a.m. on Sept. 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the tire shattered the windshield and became lodged in it. One person in the Toyota suffered minor injuries and paramedics transported the person by ambulance to a hospital.
The vehicles blocked the slow lane of the freeway.
Meanwhile, the crash remains under investigation.
