Tire Hits Jeep on State Route Highway 20
Mendocino County, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2024) — A tire fell off of a semi-truck and hit another vehicle on Highway 20 near the Potter Valley exit in Calpella, Mendocino County.
The accident occurred at around 8:21 a.m. on Feb. 7th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported there was debris scattered across the roadway near the bridge over the East Fork Russian River, just east of Lake Mendocino. It’s unknown how the truck tire came to crash into the Jeep on Highway 20.
The California Department of Fire sent paramedics to the scene to help those involved including the big rig truck driver and the victim in the Jeep SUV.
A tow truck removed the damaged Jeep from the roadway and an investigation is underway.
