Truckee: Car, Big Rig Crash on Interstate 80

Multi-Vehicle Collision Near Colfax

Truckee, CA (March 15, 2023) – Injuries were reported following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 80 Freeway Wednesday morning, March 15.

The FOX40 News reported multiple vehicles crashed into each other in the eastbound side of the freeway near Colfax. Officials mentioned the wreck involved as many as ten automobiles, including at least one big rig. The make and model of the other vehicles found at the scene have not been discussed thus far.

Minor Injury Traffic Accident on Interstate 80 in Truckee

Shortly after 11:29 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the crash site. Responding paramedics checked the conditions of all occupants in the disabled vehicles. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed victims sustained minor injuries in the collision. The names of people hurt, and their age remained undisclosed pending confirmation.

Police shut down a portion of the highway to give way to the investigation process. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine exactly how and why the accident happened on Interstate 80 in Truckee.
