1 Killed, 1 Badly Injured in Tulare County Crash on Road 144 Near Yettem
TULARE COUNTY, CA (April 8, 2022) – A DUI rash killed one person and badly injured another on Road 144 near Yettem in Tulare County.
According to an article published by the ABC 30 News, the tragic accident took place on Thursday. Officers reported the wreck in the evening of April 7.
The incident began when a 41-year-old man was driving south on Road 144 near the community of Yettem in Tulare County. At the same time, a Honda was going north.
The California Highway Patrol said the male driver then veered into the opposite lane. In the process, he slammed head-on into the Honda north of Highway 201.
DUI Driver Hits Another Car Head-On
CHP determined that the 41-year-old man was under the influence at the time. Paramedics took him to the Kaweah Health Medical Center in Visalia, where he died.
The 67-year-old motorist in the Honda sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed the patient to the same hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Road 144 to shut down for hours near Yettem following the wreck.
The fatal Tulare County crash is still under investigation.
