1 Killed in Tulare Car Crash on Southbound Highway 99 Near Avenue 200
TULARE, CA (August 29, 2021) – At least one was killed after a car crash on Highway 99 near Avenue 200 in Tulare.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the tragic incident early Sunday. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 2:08 a.m.
CHP said a gray GMC Yukon and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason in the city of Tulare. The two crashed on Highway 99, just south of Avenue 200.
2 Vehicles Collide
Both cars came to a stop in the center divider. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then extricated a trapped female occupant from the wreckage.
Medical personnel soon confirmed that one person died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if any other individual ended up hurt following the wreck. Officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 99 near Avenue 200 to shut down for hours after the collision.
The cause of the fatal Tulare crash is still under investigation.
