2 Dead, 2 Injured at Hands of Drunk Driver
TULARE, CALIFORNIA (March 26, 2016) – At least one person was killed after a multiple vehicle crash at Avenue 200 and Spacer Drive Saturday evening, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The accident was located between Roads 124 and 132.
Per the Visalia Times Delta, a female drunk driver identified as Cheyenne Wyllie, 25, of Exeter, was heading westbound along Avenue 200 in a Ford Edge before entering the intersection while failing to stop at a stop sign and broadsiding a Honda Pilot occupied by four.
The occupants inside the Honda Pilot included George Espinoza, 42, and Charlotte Espinoza, also 42, a 69-year-old grandmother, and a 10-year-old girl.
Both George and Charlotte Espinoza suffered major injuries and were each hospitalized.
George was emergency airlifted to to Kaweah Delta Medical Center and then transferred to Community Regional Medical Center while Charlotte was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center.
The 69-year-old woman and 10-year-old daughter both sadly did not survive the collision and were pronounced deceased at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Their identities have not been released at this time.
Per the Visalia Times Delta, the suspected drunk driver, Wyllie, was injured and taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. She has since been arrested after tests showed that her blood alcohol level exceeded over two times the legal limit.
The 25-year-old was taken to Bob Wiley Detention Facility and is being held on $100,000 bail facing charges of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter.
