Motorcyclist Killed in Tuolumne County Crash at Highway 120 and Rushing Hill
TUOLUMNE COUNTY, CA (August 23, 2022) – A crash killed a motorcyclist at Highway 120 and Rushing Hill Lookout Road in Tuolumne County.
According to The Union Democrat and My Mother Lode, the tragic accident took place on Monday night. Officers reported the wreck on August 22 shortly before 10 p.m. in the Jamestown area.
The incident happened when the motorcycle rider was going west on Highway 120, approaching the Rushing Hill Lookout Road turnaround.
At the same time, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north on the turnaround. For an unknown reason, the pickup truck carrying live bees crossed westbound Highway 120.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
In the process, the 2003 Harley-Davidson Road Glide collided with the Chevrolet. The California Highway Patrol said the 67-year-old Modesto man ended up ejected from his motorcycle.
Firefighters arrived and soon pronounced the rider dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the Silverado, 62-year-old Ronald Ray Woods, did not sustain any injuries. The Oakdale man stayed at the site following the wreck.
CHP forced the area of Highway 120 and Rushing Hill to shut down for a time after the crash. The cause of the fatal incident is still under investigation.
