2 Injured After Vehicle Falls Off Overpass onto SR-99 Thursday
TURLOCK, Ca (August 13, 2020) – Two people suffered injuries following a traffic collision on Highway 99 Thursday morning, the CBS Sacramento reported.
Officials said an SUV was seen driving recklessly on West Canal Drive around 8 a.m. When the vehicle approached the area near the top of the overpass, the eastbound SUV left the roadway and fell to the slow lane of southbound SR-99.
Truck Hits Vehicle in Turlock Accident, August 13
According to the news article, an oncoming tractor-trailer struck the SUV. The force from the impact pushed the SUV into the fast lane, where it was hit by a second vehicle.
First responders found two occupants in the SUV suffering in serious injuries. Paramedics transported the two victims to a hospital in unknown condition. At this time, the names of the patients remained undisclosed.
Authorities said the crash caused major delays for about an hour in the southbound lanes of the highway. Investigators stayed in the area and worked to determine the exact cause of the accident.
