Major Injury Collision on Highway 99 Tuesday
Turlock, CA (June 1, 2021) – Two people suffered injuries following a car accident on Highway 99 Tuesday evening, the Central Valley TV reported.
Officials said a wrong-way vehicle was seen driving on Highway 99 at about 10:15 p.m. Preliminary investigation revealed the red Ford sedan made a U-turn on the highway and began traveling in the wrong direction.
At one point, the Ford sedan hit a patrol vehicle. Our sources indicated the officers were outside of the patrol vehicle at the time of the crash.
The article published online indicated the Ford sedan later collided with a pickup truck. The force from the impact caused the pickup truck to roll over, and land near the median of the highway.
2 Hospitalized After Car Accident in Turlock, June 1
Shortly after the incident, medical personnel arrived at the site and rendered aid to the occupants of the pickup truck. Ambulances transported the two patients to hospitals, including one person with major trauma.
Meanwhile, authorities confirmed the driver of the vehicle traveling the wrong way died at the scene.
Further investigation on the fatal car crash in Turlock is ongoing.
