Teen Girl Killed, 2 Others Injured in DUI Car Crash Near California State University

December 15, 2018 – A 14-year-old girl whose name is Freida was killed and two others were seriously injured in a suspected DUI car crash near California State University in Turlock Friday evening, according to the Modesto Bee.

Preliminary investigation revealed a white Toyota sedan, and a black Toyota truck collided in the 100 block of East Monte Vista Avenue around 7 p.m. Firs responders reportedly found two occupants inside the white sedan, and a third passenger ejected a short distance from the vehicle.
As per the article, one of the occupants, a teenage girl, was killed in the crash. The girl was an 8th grade student at Dutcher Middle School.
Furthermore, a second occupant, also a juvenile female, was taken by ambulance to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries while the third occupant, an adult female, was flown by air ambulance to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The names of the patients have not been disclosed thus far.
Suspected DUI Driver Kevin Hernandez Arrested After Fatal Car Accident in Turlock
Shortly after the incident, authorities identified the driver of the black truck as 21-year-old Kevin Solis Hernandez, of Turlock. The man reported suffered minor injuries in the wreck, and was provided treatment at the scene. Investigators believed Hernandez was impaired at the time of the collision, but pending blood tests it is unknown whether it was on alcohol or drugs.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
