TUSTIN, Calif. (July 7, 2022)  – A suspected DUI driver was arrested following a two-vehicle Tustin crash Wednesday night on Holt Avenue.

An elderly woman became trapped in her vehicle following the 10:54 p.m. crash. It happened in the 14100 block of Holt Avenue, near Vanderlip Avenue, according to Tustin police.

A suspected DUI driver in a white Nissan 370Z was reportedly traveling north on Holt Avenue at high speed when it T-boned a black Ford sedan as it turned left onto Holt from Vanderlip Avenue.

An elderly woman in the Ford became trapped and responding firefighters used the “Jaws of Life” to extricate her from the vehicle. Paramedics transported her to OC Global Medical Center where she is listed in moderate condition.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan suffered minor injuries and failed a series of field sobriety tests. Police arrested the motorist, but they did not release the person’s name.
